what is psychosis ?

it literally means abnormal condition of the mind.
A wide variety of central nervous system diseases, from both external toxins, and from internal physiologic illness, can produce symptoms of psychosis.
However, many people have unusual and distinct (unshared) experiences of different realities at some point in their lives, without being impaired or even distressed by these experiences.
Signs and symptoms:
Hallucinations
Delusions
Thought disorder
Lack of insight.....

Yes i read about it on wikipedia too :p
The term: Physcopath is often used when someone permits a violent act.
In the case of this disease, it is exactley the same.
The patient might act very violent at some cases.

This reminds me of Sir Anthony Hopkins in the silence of the lambs movie, he was just as you describe a person with little knowledge how dangerous he is behaving. The person gets too violent sometimes.

Psychosis is basically losing touch with reality.
may be describing a brief psychotic episode although more likely, since it is so short lived, drug induced psychosis. Psychosis is commonly associated with schizophrenia, but can occur as a reaction to stress, drug use, depression, bipolar mania, personality disorders etc.
