Has anyone experienced problems with meds and weight gain. I'm currently taking Lamictal 150mgs, Lexapro 100mgs and Klonpin 2mgs twice daily. I work out for two hours three times a week and while my weight is stable I can't seem to loose that extra 15 pounds. Of course, I might add that I have a fondness for chocolate and jelly beans. Hmmm, I wonder if that's part of the problem. :D

Cymru am byth!

Seroquel caused me to have insane food cravings. And after losing 124 pounds I gained all back shortly after starting medication... this could have been coincidence I suppose, but I really noticed my ravenous cravings for food after they started me on the Seroquel. I was pacing around the house stuffing my face with chocolate while thinking about what I was going to have for dinner.

This was a huge concern for me, because when I started to lose weight, I simply didn't want to overeat....until I was on the meds. When I complained about this and other side effects they would just up my dose and/or add another pill and say they hadn't found the right cocktail yet.

The high doses made me lethargic and soon I no longer wanted to exercise. Currently I am 30 pounds below my starting weight (which I am not going to disclose) And I have tried many times to begin a diet and exercise program again, but can't seem to stick to it right now. I'm addicted to food, and exhausted.

So like I said, it could just be that I had a food addiction relapse that happened to coincide with medication therapy...I want to be fair here. But I really think the meds had something to do with it.

I workout three days a week for two hours which really helps maintain my weight. I'm 6'3 and when I hit 210 lbs. I decided it was time to get serious. My ideal weight is 185 since I have a thin frame. I carry most of the weight in my gut which is typical for men. But the weight is starting to come off.

Try to get back into exercise again if you can; it really helps.
