Dysnomia is characterised by lack of ability in memorizing names or words. Pupils with this problem find it difficult to remember the word for objects, places or things. My neighbours son is suffering from this. How to overcome this problem?

With most people there is a balance between receptive language (the ability to comprehend, retain and integrate knowledge) and expressive language (to put it into words) In people with dysnomia the receptive language is far higher than the expressive language.

Hi blewatt
Actually dysnomia caused brain trauma. Its treatment is more difficult in developmental issues but if it is caused by injury or stroke then we should consult an expert speech pathologist for language therapy to improve recall as soon as possible.
Thanks

Dysnomia is difficult or impossible to recover the correct word from memory when you need it. Dysnomia skills can affect speech, writing skills, or both. Normal individuals suffer from time to time to remember the word.

Dysnomia is a difficulty or inability to retrieve the correct words from memory if necessary. Dysnomia can affect speaking, writing, or both.

Dysnomia is a newly studied disorder of the brain and a lot remains to be discovered about it. While a lot of the symptoms of dysnomia overlap with those of the autism spectrum, treating dysnomia seems to be much easier than treating autism.

Its also a symptom of having the seizure of drugs. I noticed, and sometimes frustrated by the inability to find a word I am looking for. It drives me mad.

This is quite common, though not often in someone as young as I suspect you are. If it is really serious, you might check with a physician to see if you have a condition that could lead to a more serious aphasia. It happened a bunch of times in a row tonight in my doctoral seminar. Fortunately, these are wonderful students and all know me well, so I just told them I've been blanking on words for things lately, and they've been lovely about trying to help me figure them out. Thanks for sharing.

I have a similar problem and it is causing me to take a long time to write. I thought it was owing to lack of sleep, or perhaps it is due to hormonal changes. I had hoped it would go away on its own with proper sleep and nutrition.
