Suffering from depression is difficult. No one would deny this even if they have never gone through it themselves. However, when you find yourself amongst the diagnosed ranks of the depressed you may also find that those closest to you are the least supportive. This is not always the case, but it is more common than people care to admit. Most people lack viable knowledge and education when it comes to mental and mood disorders leaving them woefully unprepared as well as ill equipped to handle a love one that is fighting a very personal battle.
Would anyone care to share his or her experiences, thoughts and advice on this matter?

I hate to hear that you too suffered alone. However, I am glad you found a way to make it through. Are you better now or are you still depressed?

I hope your medication works out for you. Remember to take it as prescribed and if you find you are having odd side effects from it do not hesitate to talk to your doctor about it. ;)

I am too suffering from depression and my family members are helping out to the extent they can. But no one can be with you 24/7. So you have to find out ways to engage yourself in different activities so that you don't fall into worry whirlpool again and again. Forums like these also help a lot. :)
