Does anyone hear have an account of how the medical community actually diagnose a person with Bipolar Disorder? Is there a set of cognitive tests they have to take? Is it something that can be revealed in blood work or with brain imaging?
Hi
I can answer part of your question.
I know that Bipolar can not be diagnosed threw brain activity scans or blood tests.
I believe it has somnething to do with psychiatry but please dont quote me I dont have the answers. I have just been diagnosed with bipolar mood disorder myself and I know I have had no blood tests or brain scans etc. I have taken part in seeing the CMTs and now a psyciatrist who has diagnosed me based on what I have told him and close friends and family.
Hope this helps!!
