Another thing that depression can lead to is sleeping disorders. Often people who were depressed they have a real hard time sleeping. I remember when I couldn't sleep .I would wake up every few minutes or my legs and arms would twich here and there. Man I'm glad those days are over. Well discuss the sleeping disorders here.

Yeah I had it harder at night. It felt like I was suffocating and I kept waking up every few minutes and I would start to sweet and shiver. Man it gives me the creeps when I think about it now.

You should really try to quit smoking. I know its very hard, but always think badly about it, never the good side, always the bad effects in this case.

But as the sleeping disorder...Depends if you are still deppresed that time. If you arn't deppressed that time, than why would you not be able to sleep?
All depressions r linked with other. due to the problem many r depressed so not able to sleep but specifies sleeping disorder. Really people won't get sleep . If we calculate they'll sleep for 4 or 5 hours only ... but me if i go to bed the next min i'll be off... I can count the day i never slept :o

When I got to bed at night I can't sleep. I sleep and I wake up for no reason. I'm not excited or anything. Whenever it's night, I'm terrified sleeping in my own room. It's like I'm afriad of the night. What causes sleeping disorder? Do I have like trauma from the past? Do I have to take philosophy or certain classes to get rid of this problem?

yes it is happen. if people have depressed he can't sleep well because all night he thought about that thing only which he give the depression. no one can sleep well. so if you want to sleep well feel relaxed you don's have any depression. so you can get good sleep at night.

If you have difficult or bad childhood, it can affect your emotions and also the way you cope with stress.
Sleep hygiene is also important.
e.g. Drinking coffee or coke before going to bed will not help as they contain caffeine which can cause disturbance of sleep.

Oh ya... Damn this... I have this ilness at the moment and this is hard to live with it at these days. When you get to bed, you just can't sleep, you have thousands of minds in your head... And when you finally do(get sleepy), you won't be fresh and fine for the next day. You'll feel tired, you yawn, you wish to sleep at the place you are... This stupid ilness really mess things up.

But I think that if you are not able to sleep it means you are in depression because if you are working well in your life then you should have a good sleep hour.Anyway there are few methods to sleep in which you have to care about postion of your legs and hands if you follow them ,then you will not face such kind of problems.

Yes depression can certainly lead to sleeping disorder. I remember when i was under a bit of depression after my results i was not able to sleep full nights & even your mind gets void & you don't understand what next to do.It can cause severe problems.

Sleeping is one of the most important functions in life.
Eliminate caffeine (or foods that have caffeine, such as chocolate).Make sure your room is not too hot or too cold.Use meditation and Avoid exercise after dinner.

well i completely agree with Jackson....sleeping is a necessary state in our life so that the person can remain fit from all fatigues, mental pressure and all...if someone is not able to sleep because of some subsequent mental pressure, it would be called as sleeping disorder....

My friend had sleeping disorder. The results of recent preliminary clinical trials of acupuncture have indicated improvements in sleep quality in people with insomnia. However, additional research is required before the effectiveness of acupuncture is proven conclusively for the relief of insomnia.

A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a medical disorder of the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional functioning. A test commonly ordered for some sleep disorders is the polysomnogram.

Everyone experiences occasional sleep problems, but getting a good night’s sleep is essential for feeling refreshed and alert during the day. Lack of sleep might make you feel foggy and unable to concentrate, or just a lesser version of your normal self. Sleep problems will eventually disrupt your work, family and personal relationships.
How do you tell if your sleepless night is an isolated occurrence or if it is related to a chronic sleep problem or disorder? Start by identifying your symptoms. Particular behaviors during the day are telltale signs of sleep deprivation. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms on a regular basis, your sleeplessness might be part of an ongoing problem or sleep disorder.

One common reason for long term sleeping problems is depression. Depression might be caused by increased stress, but there is usually not a significant reason for it. Sleeping problems caused by depression are usually in the form of waking up several times a night or just waking up many hours before your alarm is set, and not being able to fall asleep again.
