You are probably aware of the dangers that you can find and encounter when it comes to smoking but if you are a self confessed chain smoker, you are probably finding a difficult time in stopping and preventing yourself from smoking. Although this could be very difficult on your part, you should definitely realize that you can be successful at it if you have the determination to actually succeed.

Smoking could cause and trigger a lot of illnesses and diseases to your body. If you think that only your lungs could be affected by smoking, you are definitely wrong. In fact, the lungs could be the primary organ that is usually targeted when you smoke but this does not necessarily mean that this is the only organ at risk.

Even your teeth, breath, heart, energy, kidneys, and almost all the other parts and organs that can be found in your body could directly be affected by smoking. That is why you really have to take this addiction seriously and do something about it now while you still can. Smoking can also cause cancer - a well known type of disease that results to immediate death.

There are several ways on how you can effectively quit smoking and you can definitely do this even without having to stop yourself from the actual act of smoking. All you have to do is consider trying out other alternatives like smokeless cigarettes and still get to taste cigarette but without exactly experiencing its negative effects. Be smoke free now or at least try your best to be!

Hi

Women's Health
# Cigarettes do severe damage to reproductive organs and newborn children. Women who smoke are more likely to have trouble conceiving and are more likely to experience a miscarriage. Smoking is also linked to premature delivery, stillbirths and low birth weight. There is also a connection to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Circulation
# Smoking negatively impacts blood flow to the extremities, resulting in PVD (peripheral vascular disease). PVD can be treated surgically, but the operation will be ineffective if the patient continues to smoke. Many doctors will refuse to do the surgery unless the patient agrees to give up cigarettes. Since erections are linked to blood flow, men who smoke may suffer from erectile dysfunction.
Respiratory Problems
# Smoking is responsible for a host of respiratory conditions. It damages air passages and can cause emphysema. Cigarettes also worsen conditions such as pneumonia and asthma. Many longtime smokers suffer from chronic cough and excessive phlegm.

Thanks

Negative Effects of Smoking

* The average smoker will die about eight years earlier than a similar non-smoker.
* Smoking permanently damages the alveoli (air sacs) in the lungs, making it hard to breathe.
* According to Health Canada, close to half of all smokers will die from smoking before they turn 70 years old.
* Smoking increases a person’s risk of developing heart disease and stroke by contributing to build up of plaque in arteries, increased risk of blood clots, increased blood pressure and reduced oxygen in the blood.

As soon as you become smoke-free, your risk of heart disease and stroke begins to decrease. Within one year, your chance of dying from smoking-related heart disease is cut in half. Within 10 years, your risk of dying from lung cancer is cut in half. After 15 years, your risk of dying from a heart attack will be equal to that of a person who never smoked.

However, it’s important to remember that it’s never too late to quit. Visit “Rewards of Quitting” to understand the benefits of being smoke-free.

Tobacco smoke also contributes to a number of cancers.

*

The mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure, straining your heart and blood vessels.
*

This can cause heart attacks and stroke. It slows your blood flow, cutting off oxygen to your feet and hands. Some smokers end up having their limbs
amputated.
*

Tar coats your lungs like soot in a chimney and causes cancer. A 20-a-day smoker breathes in up to a full cup (210 g) of tar in a year.
*

Changing to low-tar cigarettes does not help because smokers usually take deeper puffs and hold the smoke in for longer, dragging the tar deeper into their lungs.
*

Carbon monoxide robs your muscles, brain and body tissue of oxygen, making your whole body and especially your heart work harder. Over time, your airways swell up and let less air into your lungs.
*

Smoking causes disease and is a slow way to die. The strain of smoking effects on the body often causes years of suffering. Emphysema is an illness that slowly rots your lungs. People with emphysema often get bronchitis again and again, and suffer lung and heart failure.

The effects of smoking varies from person to person as it will depend on the person's vulnerability to the chemical in cigarette or tobacco smoke. It will also depend on the number of cigarette sticks a person smokes per day, the age when the person first started to smoke, and the number of years the person has been smoking.

Smoking negatively blows blood flow to the extremities, resulting in PVD (peripheral vascular disease). PVD can be treated surgically, but the operation will be ineffective if the patient continues to smoke. Smoking is directly linked to one-third of all heart disease-related deaths. Nicotine releases adrenalin into the system and speeds up the heart rate. It causes the arteries to restrict, blood pressure to rise and robs the body of oxygen.

Cancer:

Smoking cigarettes everyday will increase your chances of getting cancer. The most common one is lung cancer.

Many smokers know and are aware of the bad effects of smoking but instead of stopping, they continue for years and years.

Smoking is addictive:

Did you know that 1 cigarette that you put in your mouth is composed of 4000 or so chemicals all of which are not good for the body. One of the main reasons why you can not quit smoking is because the nicotine. Nicotine is a very quiet and deadly poison.

Weakening of the immune system:

People think that smoking helps them lose weight. Wrong.....It doesn't.

The only reason why a smoker loses weight is because of the nicotine which basically destroys their immune system.

Bad for the heart:

You may have not known this but smoking cigarettes can cause an increase in your heart attack chances. Smoking actually make your blood clot and that is the main reason. Just like consistently eating fat and junk food and never taking care of yourself.

It's bad for your oral health:

Smoking can cause an amazing amount of bad breath. It also gets your teeth yellow looking.

So stop smoking if you love the way your teeth looks and how you smell around other people.
