View Full Version : relaxation method
Breathe stress away. It is a powerful relaxation method. The basic technique is to apply slight pressure on the left nostril. Breathe in through the right nostril, closing it after inhalation is complete and then breath out through the left side. Then the breath is taken in through the left nostril and the exhalation is out from the right. This completes one round. You can do it for 5 minutes. By doing this, the whole body is nourished by an extra supply of oxygen, while carbon dioxide is expelled and blood purifies of toxins.
When you are doing this, donot think anything. Be in peaceful state of mind.Depressive thoughts will go and you will feel better.

Believe it your not, you can significantly affect your ability to handle stress by simply changing the rhythm and depth of your breaths.
Exercise - Breath slower, deeper, and more relaxed:
1. Start with a series of nice relaxed abdominal breaths.
2. Pay close attention to the rate and depth of your breathing.
3. Consciously try to slow down the rate of you breathing and focus on taking deep, quiet and relaxed breaths.
4. Try to make you exhalations last at least as long as you inhalations.

is Drumming.
Drumming is a great way to center oneself as it balances our two hemispheres (right brain - creative, fantastical and Left brain - Logical, analytical) and is calming in its effects of clearing the mind and letting our thoughts pass without dwelling on them.

Nice article and also great replies about relaxation, For some people, relaxing is the last thing they have on their minds. They are too busy to take the time to relax. There are not enough hours in the day to allow the time to relax. People tend look at relaxing as the lazy person’s activity. But in fact, relaxation is an important part of the regenerating process for the body.

Relaxation is so essential in beating stress, anxiety and depression - so is exercise. We often think we don't have enough time. The truth is we can't afford not to take the time.
Whether it be breathing, yoga, walk on the beach, meditation or a game of squash, relaxation and exercise go hand in hand to relieving stress.
Speaking of which, I am now choosing to take time out for me - I deserve it.
Cheers

As the matter is about stress relaxation always prefer 'Breathe deep and relax'..Practice the breathing exercise below to relax your body and mind.Breathe deeply and relax. For 2 or 3 minutes each hour take a short mental vacation. You can participate in this exercise while standing in the checkout line at the supermarket or when listening to others while talking on a phone.

There are a lot of ways in which a person can relax.Music & Candles is best way to relax. music has been helping people relax for years and will more than likely continue to be used for years to come. You can also use different scented candles to relax you. Light a couple in your room and lay or sit down to enjoy the aroma.

In numerical mathematics, the relaxation method is a method for obtaining numerical approximations to the solutions of systems of equations, including certain types of elliptic partial differential equations, in particular Laplace's equation and its generalization, Poisson's equation. The function is assumed to be given on the boundary of a shape, and has to be computed on its interior.
This relaxation method should not be confused with the unrelated relaxation technique in mathematical optimization.
