I started wearing contacts about a week ago and now my eye seems to be coming down with an infection. Its just a little red but it burns like hell especially when i blink. What are some treatments for something like this?

The types of problems you may treat with nonprescription products include (1) dry eye, (2) itching and redness due to pollen, ragweed, grass, animal hair or dander, (3) minor redness of the eye, and (4) loose foreign material in the eye. If you have a professional diagnosis of corneal edema, there are also nonprescription products available. If you have one of these problems, you should consult your pharmacist for a suitable product. Make sure to double-check any product you choose, to ensure that the expiration date has not passed. If you think you have an eye infection, it is critical to avoid home remedies such as boric acid.

Hi

Wet a washcloth with the hottest water you can tolerate and gently hold it onto you closed eye-lid. Turn to another hot spot and repeat. Do NOT use cold - that is for swelling injury to reduce blood flow. The heat will help draw out irritation etc like pink-eye etc. Of course, wash that cloth after. This is advice given to my children when they had various problems from doctors.

Thanks
