hello,
my name is Ashley, and the reason why i am posting on this forum is because my mom has been suffering from what i think is Schizophrenia for about 4 years on and off. she has been previously hospitalized/ placed in the phyc ward for over a week many times during the 4 years. she is also on "Zyprexa" . on occasion my father and i notice when she stops taking the medication. because she slips back into her anxiety, hallucinations, feeling as if someone is out to get her/ hurt her and our family. she can hear voices and such.
this morning she woke up and told my father she thinks someone is going to hurt her. i notice that most of the time she doesn't make any sense when she is talking and she can sit on the couch for hours not saying a word. or sleeping the entire day away.i have researched everything on Schizophrenia and all of what she is experiecing points directly to Schizophrenia. she has seen many doctors and they said that it's not. i dont believe them. i have also taken physcology and sciology and have studied the effects of schizophrenia i am sure that is what she has, but these dr's keep giving us the run around. i dont know what else to do. she never wants to go to work. never wants to clean the house or cook, never wants to talk to anyone. and its really putting strain on her and my fathers relationship, as well as her and myself. i need help figuring this out. and what can we do to help? anyone??
