Hey Guys

My name is Ree and I have recovered from anxiety, post natal depression, OCD, Panic disorder and INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS.

The reason I highlight intrusive thoughts is because this debilitated me and completely took over my mind, thoughts, feelings and ability to function.

I have now recovered, and would like to share my story, information, education, positive affirmations, and positive thinking techniques.

I KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO FEEL LIKE YOU WILL NEVER RECOVER.
BUT....YOU CAN. I PROMISE YOU THAT MUCH.

I have a safe place where you can access all of the information outlined above, and talk to me at any time.

Below is one of the many pieces of self help that you will find:

Have you noticed when you are stressed/tired/feeling blue - the thoughts that surround your mind are all negative.

Do these thoughts sound familiar to you?

"I will never feel better" - Why not? You are feeling this way right now, but nothing is forever. You can feel better immediately by changing those negative thoughts. Instead of thinking that you will never get better - how about thinking that you will get better? It may seem like a simple change of words - but the enormity of what this change of thinking brings - is life altering.
I will feel better - When you say a positive statement such as this, your mind will start to think about the positive things, feeling better will bring to your life. Whether it is as simple as leaving the house for the first time this week, perhaps being able to go out to dinner with your husband, or laughing at something you have never been able to before because of the negative thinking patterns.

"I will always be hopeless" - Will you? The only way that you will always be hopeless, is if you let yourself be. You are the beholder of your own destiny and you are the person who makes the choice to make yourself feel that way. You may be feeling hopeless right now - but telling yourself that you will always be hopeless - catastrophises your thoughts and sinks you deeper down in that big black hole.
I am not hopeless - well - it's true, isn't it? Even if there is nothing in your past that you can say that you have done well - why can't there be anything in your future that you do well? Tomorrow is a new day, and it is up to you whether you choose to take the chance to think and feel differently. Believe that you can change.

"I feel sad/anxious/depressed all the time" - I am sure it must feel like this. I often used to think that I had anxiety 100% of the time, every day. Saying these sort of negative thoughts to yourself over catastrophises the way you feel, and you will think about being anxious/depressed etc every waking moment. There are times where you don't feel this way. You just can't recall them as you choose to focus on the times that you do. In changing your thoughts to focus on the positive times when you don't feel anxious or depressed - will actually help you overcome feeling this way.
"I DO NOT feel sad/anxious/depressed all the time" - By repeating this message to yourself, you are allowing yourself to beleive what is true - you really dont feel this way all of the time. Sometimes you may even feel happy, you may even sometimes look forward to the future. The difference is, when these moments happen - you don't acknoweldge them and focus on those feelings as you see them as "normal". The negative feelings and thoughts are not "normal" hence why we focus so much on them. We may even try to find reasons why we think and feel this way, and why this has happened to us.
Question is searching for the reasons will not help us recover. It is accepting that this is the way you feel for now, and realising that it is ok.
When you do feel happy, joyful, optimisitic, any positive feeling at all - FOCUS ON IT. Think about all the good things in your life, and the happiness you feel right now. This is when you need to start telling yourself that you do not feel anxious all of the time - you feel happy, joyful, excited.
This is when you will start to experience the JOY that positive making can make you feel......
