Note that I do not mean medication itself makes these disorders worse, but the need for them. Does the dependency on them create a placebo affect?
For instance, if a person goes off a medication, does their disorder worsen because the med isn't there to correct it, or is it made worse because they think they can't function normally without it, thus fulfilling their prophecy?
