Undifferentiated Somatoform Disorder is a residual category of unexpalined physical symptoms, lasting at least 6 months, which are below the threshold for a diagnosis of somatization disorder. It has a substantially higher prevalence. Since data fail to support any clear boundary based on the number of distribution of unexpalined symptoms as required for somatization disorder, there have been numerous suggestions for less restrictive somatization symptoms. As also, none of the syndromes based on counting numbers of unexplained symptoms has a satisfactory evidence base and none is helpful in planning treatment.

In order to diagnose this disorder, we assume or demonstrate that the disorder is disruptive to occupational or social achievement. In each disorder, even the undifferentiated variety, we are assuming that there is either the lack of any physical findings or that the physical findings are insufficient to create the distress and symptoms that the patient reports.

Well i personally think that there is no identifiable cause physical illness, although there may be physical symptoms such as nausea, depression, pain, and dizziness. somatoform disorders, also known as syndrome of tiles, pain disorder, or BDD. The symptoms that patients are numerous and long lasting than a year because they could not be reduced to natural causes, which are unique.
