well i personally had this kind of depression..when i was in class 12 i couldn't score well...this led to disappointment and i was feeling like the worst person of the world...:(

i think disappointment is the primary cause of depression...whenever we feel disappointed we also feel depressed....people should always face the cause of disappointment strongly.. the person would never find himself disappointed again...

I agree, usually a person is disappointed if he/she cant achieve something which they desired, i mean many people while setting target/expectations know that its going to be hard/tuff/impossible but people will go for it in the name of "optimisim" that is when it hurts the most so my simple solution is "we shoud not have high expectation" so that we wont fail and inturn this will not allow depression to affect us.

It is true that one can get depressed over disappointment. I have done that too in the past, not because of one thing, but a few that happened in succession. The key to surpassing it is finding new things to work towards, new goals to be hopeful for. That has so far worked for me.

I also get this type of depression due to the disappointments with some personal reasons, due to office or any other types as well.
