Seems a bit stupid thread, but anyway, let's clear this out.
People spends money on alcohol, because:
1. To the most of people, alcohol is main relaxation form in their life.
2. Some people get addicted to alcohol.
3. It's just a tradition from past centuries...

Yes, this was said a long time ago and this is true. As glass of beer helps to your stomach, so glass of wine helps to your heart. Also, there are some drinks that helps more to blood vessels than wine, but I can't remember it's name at the moment.

Health benefits only come with moderate drinking and are greatest for older men. And even moderate drinking is not recommended for women who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant, or for people who are under 21.
There are many benefits in drinkin alcohol such as you can forget all the problems that you have in your life. You wil think as an scientist when you drink. And you will gain power so that you can attack your enemy's in that situation.

Cracking a joke or what???
Alcohol is dangerous to your body and its frequent consumption damages the liver as it can cause stomach cancer also.Alcohol drinkers drink to have enjoyment or to get themselves out of sorrows. But alcohol drinking is in no way beneficial.
Stop drinking alcohol.

I am an alcoholic. Sometimes the hardest thing to admit. My parents were both alcoholics. Does this mean I have copied their behaviour or was it genetic predisposition? Who knows? All I know is that when I pick up an alcoholic drink it sets in motion an uncontrollable urge to drink until I'll drop for many days afterwards.

A wide variety of health effects have been attributed to moderate drinking. A lower risk of diabetes has been seen in women and men.

If poison is consume in a bottle or in a drop it will lead to death only.Even alcohol is like a poison only whether its consumed on occasions or you were addicted its dangerous for health only.It doesn't have any kind of hereditary aspects but a child can be abused by their parents, because every parent is hero for their child.
Stop consuming alcohol and live a happy life there is no advantage in drinking alcohol.

Hello
Whenever my friend orders a drink or a glass of wine, he always jokes that it’s “strictly for medicinal purposes” or “doctor’s orders.” After all, moderate alcohol consumption appears to have a number of well-publicized health benefits. Statistically, people who have a drink or so a day live a bit longer than teetotalers.
Why? Mostly because moderate alcohol consumption is good for your heart. It reduces your risk of heart disease and stroke—presumably by thinning the blood and reducing inflammation. Although the cardiovascular benefits account for most of the impact on longevity, a bit of alcohol also seems to reduce the risk of many other diseases.
It doesn’t matter what kind of alcohol you drink, either. Red wine may offer a little extra health boost in the form of poly phenols that are found in the skins of the grapes. You can get these same compounds in nonalcoholic grape juice, by the way. But in terms of overall health and longevity, beer, wine, and spirits all have about the same benefits.

Historically doctors have promoted alcohol for its perceived health benefits and most recently for protection against coronary heart disease. The current available medical evidence suggests that any health benefits from alcohol are at best debatable.
Concerns have been raised that similar to the pharmaceutical industry the alcohol industry has been involved in exaggerating the health benefits of alcohol.

However, alcohol consumption is also associated with serious risks. Drinking too much alcohol contributes to accidents and injuries and can lead to liver disease, certain types of stroke, high blood pressure, various cancers, and birth defects, among other health problems. Thus, understanding the possible risks and benefits of alcohol is essential to make an informed decision about alcohol use.

a glass of red wine a day is helpful for quit smoking... whereas if it is being exceeded then it leads to addiction.

Everything is good until you become an addict to it. If you are an addict and can't survive without it..you are prone to anything. I take alcohol only on Saturdays and I used to wait for that day and that makes me happy.

Alcohol has been used medicinally throughout recorded history; its medicinal properties are mentioned 191 times in the Old and New Testaments.1 As early as the turn of the century there was evidence that moderate consumption of alcohol was associated with a decrease in the risk of heart attack.2 And the evidence of health benefits of moderate consumption has continued to grow over time.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism has found that the lowest death rate from all causes occurs at the level of one to two drinks each day.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism found that moderate drinking is beneficial to heart health, resulting in a sharp decrease in heart disease risk. This is important because cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the United States and heart disease kills about one million Americans each and every year.

Well i guess it depends on the person and his preferences . If a diabetic is very receptive to changes in their bodies, and for the most part, know when to stop; if you feel like you shouldn't take a drink, you probably shouldn't. Excessive drinking can cause serious health issues which are likely to affect patients with diabetes more than other average people .
