Well even banning of smoking (in public places ) didnt help to curb it..Cigarette vendors arent allowed some specific distance from educational institutes but this rule too went up in smoke..
No one is bothered..Not till the parents stand up, nothing can be done..Drives should be held..youth must be made aware of the harms of it and how it is slowly taking their life away..
This is not easy at all.As addiction of any sort is not easy to curb.Taking them to Rehabs could help

Well, Care must to be taken on behalf of the parents that their child is not with the bad people. But the major part should come from the youth only- they should realize what the effects will be and how to stop it.

To prevent children from smoking we should remove all smoking adults from their way, and erase all advertisement from any mass media. The more realistic way to avoid smoking from childhoodis to take a look at your own child, kiss him and even you are smoker yourself , you will feel if he had smoked a cigarette today.

Stopping smoking substantially reduces mortality risks even among long-term smokers. A person who has quit smoking has 50% less chance of dying due to lung cancer and within 10 years of quitting smoking, risk of death due to lung cancer decreases compared with that of nonsmokers. There are few epidemiologic studies on the quantitative assessment of smoking and the use of tobacco products in India, but even after exhaustive search, no community-based study could be found about the smoking habits and tobacco use in youth. It is difficult to plan and monitor effective tobacco control strategies and interventions in the absence of adequate data on smoking habits and use of other tobacco products.
