Say Mr. and Mrs. X work in a huge multinational company. He is the head of a department, she is the CTO of the local branch. Both of them are really ambitious and want to get to the very top. Suddenly, they realize they aren't in their early 20's anymore and think about having a child.
So far so good, 'ey? :) But both of them spend 14-ish hours at the office. Of course, they can afford to get a babysitter.
What would they get to see of their child in the next years? Kiss him goodnight when they get home? Play with him for 15 minutes at breakfast?
