Depression due to ragging!!

Hii, seniors rag their juniors and sometimes classmates rag their friends just for fun but they dont know that they are creating mental trauma to them.Ragging leads to extreme depression and some even victims even commit suicide.Please share what can be done about this.

Yes, I think it is a kind of bullying and it happens especially to the newcomers. Some can take it really seriously and might affect their mental well being in the long term.

well its a very severe cause of depression ....newcomers need time to settle down in a new environment but at the same time they go through with the problem like ragging.....some strict actions need to be taken so that the problem like this can be stopped....

this is another situation where people can catch depression easily.. i guess there are lot of government bodies to control it.. they should be very strict on the rules and execution of policies must be there.

few live examples or instances should be on the notice board where punishment was given

College,University's Staff or faculty can play important role in stopping this evil ragging.Governmental bodies can do nothing without co-operation of others.
Finally victims should have strong mind and should report immediately to concerned authorities.

well its a very big problem and still there is no solution of it....college administration don't follow the rules strictly that are made by UGC or AICTE or school(in India)...this in turn leads to the severe cause...in India the rules are not being followed properly leading ragging to death....

Ragging leads to very bad consequences of a student.When a student enters into the college he has fear of ragging.In every college seniors generally take ragging of their juniors.They dont realize its effects that are caused on the mentality of a person.In some cases he commits suicides to save himself from the jaws of ragging.Parents are also worried for their children whether they will adjust in new atmosphere or will suffer.People dont have major idea about the harm ragging can cause.The strict laws must be abide to prevent ragging and the culprit must be heavily punished.The students get mentally depressed because of ragging and cannot pay their attention in studies.

I think students just need to be stronger minded and not pay the bullies any attention.
