I will say dementia is a serious mental condition affecting someone's memory, judgement and emotions. It is a progressive condition and we diagnosed dementia if the duration of the condition is more than 6 months.

It is commoner in older people. As we grow older, we lose brain cells on daily basis. But in dementia, the process is much quicker and it affects memory, judgement and emotions as I said. People with dementia will be more forgetful and will struggle to learn new things. As it progress, they lost ability to communicate properly as well as to do daily routines eg. cooking, looking after themselves etc...

Dementia is the progressive decline in the functions of the body beyond what might be expected from normal aging. It is a syndrome in which affected areas of cognition may be memory, attention, language and problem-solving.
