Question for an expert

Has there ever been any documented cases of people receiving a clean bill of health after recovering from a mental illness? Meaning of course the person in question has not had any arrests or conduct of questionable nature throughout his or her life?

It depends on the type of the mental illness. Some mental illnesses run a chronic course. e.g. schizophrenia, dementia, bipolar disorder etc... For them, monitoring of their mental condition is recommended.
