What does it mean?

In the United States and Canada, the term learning disability (LD) refers to a group of disorders that affect a broad range of academic and functional skills including the ability to speak, listen, read, write, spell, reason and organize information.

A learning disability is not indicative of low intelligence. Indeed, research indicates that some people with learning disabilities may have average or above-average intelligence. Causes of learning disabilities include a deficit in the brain that affects the processing of information.

Well, if children have some form of learning disability the school program itself can be adjusted to fit that childs speacial needs, however if the child has a really bad, serious case of disabilty he can be enroled in a special school itself, because that can make things alot easier on everyone especially on the parents and children.

Usually learning disability starts from childhood and it can be due to a number of factors such as genetics, inborn metabolic disorders etc...

It can't be cured but there are many ways to help people with learning disability to improve their quality of life.

Curing dyslexia is possible but it certainly is not easy. To tackle even one symptom will take months of hard work, day in and day out. To tackle all of them is a task measured in years.

If you can figure out how to use the computer and go on Yahoo Answers and put together a statement just like you did, you do not have a severe learning disability. You may have a mild learning disability, but I seriously doubt that you have a severe learning disability.
