There have been some studies that there is an increasing amount of cases where college student suffer from deperession. Many have said that it might be because of work load, and some don't get much social time, and maybe some are far away from home so they miss their family, etc. What do you all think about this issue, and what can be done to improve the situation.

Depression can affect the mental state of a student. I am also a college student and i know that how much a student feels when he is studying in college miles away from his home.He suffers through a tough mental state and also has pressure to score good marks in the exams. He has to maintain good relations with people around because he may also get involved in disputes which can hurt him.He has to pass through mixed emotions. Its a very tough life but everyone has to face challenges in life.

As per my knowledge, In contrast to depression, cases of severe anxiety showed a drop, especially over the last three years of the study. This is the story of a college freshman. Mainly freshmen entering a new world so to speak. Often times you won't see it right away or not at all.
