asperger's syndrome and school

I'm wondering if any of you guys have had any experiences working with children with asperger's syndrome and helping them develop social skills and if so, what did you do and was it successful?

Firstly we have to clarify about why the child had got social and communication problems. The child needed to be referred to the local child psychiatrist or community paediatrician.

To reach the right diagnosis, we need to take a detailed developmental history, to request a psychological report including asessment of the intellectual abilities, and to assess the child's social and communication skills. To exclude medical causes, a physical examination and routine blood tests will also needed to be carried out.


It is also important to involve an educational psychologist, speech therapist or occupational therapist.
