Ziprasidone opinions wanted

Hi,I'm on olanzapine and have put on loads of weight,it was helping as well.I've tried most anti psychotics and had trouble with most of them in someway.
My fella had a look on the net for help when he came across ziprasidone.It said that people didn't put much weight on I think the average was 3lbs gained.
Since talking it over with my cpn I can take it if I want to.Aparently I need a ecg and blood test.
Has anyone had any experience with it,heard that the side effects are pretty bad if you stop taking it.are there other bad side effects.
Lastly has anyone swapped over to it and actually lost weight,as that would cheer me up.

For your weight gain, did you consult with a dietician and some changes in your life style e.g. more physical activities like gyms, changes in diet etc.. might help. It is worth seeing a dietician.

If you like to change meds, Aripiprazole is another option and I believe it has been used more than ziprasidone in the UK.

Main side effect of Ziprasidone is nausea and you might feel a bit sick.

Hi there. I took olanzapine and I gained 40 pounds that was 2 years ago... I am now on zipraisidone its called zeldox here and (i was diagnosed with bipolar though, i use it for paranoia and mania) it works great... i havent gained any weight since being on it and ive been on it for a year and a bit
good luck to you! Oh I'll cheer you up now lol, I was switched over to it and lost thirty pounds because it gave me my energy back, olanzapine was jus too draining.
