here is the cause of schizophrenia: gluten, dairy and refined sugar (which includes products that contain ingredients derived from refined sugar). in other words, just simply eating a healthy diet that does not contain the above ingredients will, over time, cure schizophrenia. I have schizophrenia, aspergers and social anxiety, and about 9 months ago I decided to go on a diet that does not contain the above ingredients. all three of my illnesses have been alleviated dramatically, although they have not completely gone away yet. before I went on the diet, I was functioning at 0%; I could not do anything. in other words, I was like a walking vegetable. I could not even try to do anything; that is how bad I was. my illnesses, which were caused by stress--which was caused by diet, were literally crushing me. I was being crushed by the stress. now, however, I am functioning at a much higher level than I was before; I can engage in intellectual studies, I can now do some level of physical activity such as landscaping, and my public stress/anxiety level has decreased, as well as my social anxiety. however, I am not saying to just completely throw out all of your medications and go on this diet. I am saying that this diet should be used in addition to the antipsychotic medications, if you are currently using them. I am also not saying that my life is perfectly fine now; I still have a long ways to go before I am completely cured--although I have made dramatic improvements ever since I started the above diet 9 months ago, and, as a side note, I will say that for most of the time, I have not consumed any meat either for this 9 month period. the only time I consumed meat was for about a 3 week period when I was figuring out what I could replace my current source of protein, beans, with, at that time. I ended up choosing to use dried spirulina seaweed as my new source of a complete protein. again, the healing process that I mentioned above does not take a short amount of time; it may take a short time for some people, but not everyone, such as myself. I had an incredibly severe case of stress and pain, which is caused by diet. the cause of all mental illnesses is stress and pain, which are caused by diet.

We actually don't know the exact cause of schizophrenia. We can roughy say one third of people with schizophrenia would improve with time and the other third will run a more or less fluctuating course. The remaining one third is likely to get worse concerned with the symptoms of schizophrenia over time.

The causes of schizophrenia have been the subject of much debate, with various factors proposed and discounted. Studies suggest that genetics, prenatal development, early environment, neurobiology and psychological and social processes are important contributory factors. Current psychiatric research into the development of the disorder is often based on a neurodevelopmental model. In the absence of a confirmed specific pathology underlying the diagnosis, some question the legitimacy of schizophrenia's status as a disease.
