There are many potential health problems associated with a diet that is high in junk foods. The most common one is obesity.

In today's environment where children get less exercise than ever because they are driven to school, where we are so rushed that we seldom have time to walk to work, it is easy enough anyway to consume more calories per day than your body needs. If you add junk food to the equation, it is almost a certainty that you will consume more calories in a day than your body can burn.

Obesity can be a serious health risk leading to Type 2 Diabetes and heart and circulatory diseases. Risks from too many fizzy drinks, as well as obesity from the calories, include osteoporosis.

The risks associated with vitamin deficiencies and malnutrition are simply too numerous to name.

Junk food is easy to carry, purchase and consume. Generally, a junk food is given a very attractive appearance by adding food additives and colors to enhance flavor, texture, appearance, and increasing long self life.

A junk food has little enzyme producing vitamins & minerals and contains high level of calories. When we eat these empty calorie foods, the body is required to produce its own enzymes to convert these empty calories into usable energy. This is not desired as these enzyme producing functions in our body should be reserved for the performance of vital metabolic reactions.

I am not completely disapproving that junk should be completely avoid but it should be not consumed on heavy extents. Actually the basic food material of the junk food destroys health immensely. Actually this food is not easily digestible and remain in the stomach for many days which weakens the digestive system.

I'm trying to lose a few pounds and I've been doing well. But I'm haing cravings for junk food that I didnt even eat when I wasn't dieting. If I allowed myself to be weak I think I could eat and entire bag of ores right now.

Apart from the supplying energy and loads of calories, junk food does not give you all the essential nutrients. On the other hand, healthy foods like fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains serve as rich sources of a variety of nutrients. When we talk about essential fats, healthy foods score again. Junk foods, like French fries and burgers, are laden with unhealthy fats, which is the reason why majority of people eating such foods suffer from obesity.
Junk food is a quick way to get energy but it is also coupled with additional, unnecessary calories. unlike healthy foods, junk foods, do not supply your body with the proper nutrients needed to function adequately..:)

Too much salt! Junk foods often have too much salt. There's a lot of salt already in foods such as bread, breakfast cereals and biscuits and cakes. So people are getting more salt than they need when they eat junk food. Too much salt is unhealthy for the heart.

Fast Food in general is very unhealthy. The disadvantages of fast food are that the oily food are not good for you. It can do blood sugar rises and falls very quickly. They have high in salt causes high blood pressure. It puts on weight quickly.
